NCTS Race #05 – Schuetzen NEIN! Hour Endurance Run

NEIN!

No Coast runners took on the series’ first timed event in spectacular fashion at the Schuetzen NEIN! Hour Endurance Run this past Saturday in Davenport! HOT temps and one tough little trail loop brought out the best in these runners and some incredible displays of grit and endurance were demonstrated as many runners’ goals of going all 9 hours, ultra distance or just run as much as they could were tested and challenged.

Congrats to all Schuetzen runners and special kudos to those who earned the Ultra Schuetzen Spanker!

Standings have been updated and can be viewed at www.nocoasttrailseries.com

Enjoy your July and we hope to see many of you racing the No Coast at race #06, the Mines of Spain Trail Races in Dubuque on August 6th!

NCTS Race #04 – Booneville Backroads Ultra

The Booneville Backroads Ultra was this past weekend outside Des Moines and it sounds like it threw a little bit of everything at runners! Clouds, sun, rain, wind, hills and mud were just a few of the fun elements that 10k, 50k, 100k and 100 milers had to overcome in their quest to become a ‪#‎boonevillebadass‬!

With the series’ 4th race and 2nd possible Ultra race, a lot of points were to be had and there was a fair amount of shake up in the divisions. Standings have been updated and can be viewed along with everything No Coast at www.nocoasttrailseries.com! A snapshot of top 5 in each division is posted below but remember, participants must complete a minimum of three (3) NCTS races to be eligible for division awards (top 3 after overall male and female are taken out).

And in less than 3 weeks time, a group of unfortunate souls take on No Coast’s only timed endurance event of the series this year at Schuetzen NEIN! Hour Endurance Run! ‪#‎NEINyourself‬

NCTS Race #03 – Sunderbruch B&B Trail Races

The Sunderbruch B&B Trail Races took place in Davenport this last weekend and marked the third race in the series for 2016! Dry trails and absolutely perfect weather did their part to make the small grassroots QC TUR(d) hosted event a success for a third year in a row! ~150 runners total ran in either the 10k-ish or the 5k-ish course and afterwards, got to enjoy a wealth of bacon, craft beer and good times.

Next up this weekend, the Booneville Backroads Ultra! With great distance, comes great point potential! With distances ranging from 10k to 100 miles, expect a lot of points and a lot of movement in the Ultra divisions!

NCTS Race #02 – Hawkeye 50k/25k

The 2nd race in this year’s No Coast Trail Series took place over the weekend at the Hawkeye 50k/25k in Solon on a sunny but chilly spring day! With an eclectic course that challenged runners with all types of terrain and even a mid loop spillway crossing, the Hawkeye provided not only a Trail division distance with the 25k but the series’ first Ultra division offering of the year with the 50k distance. As a result, the standings have grown and diversified with runners now claiming stake in all eight divisions!

If you ran at either Red Shamrock or Hawkeye and haven’t signed up for No Coast yet, fret not! Click the Sign-up link at top and you’ll be put in the system with your points from either or both of the races!

We get a short break from No Coast racing this next month and resume again at the Sunderbruch B&B Trail Races in Davenport on May 21st and the Booneville Backroad Ultras on May 28th!

NCTS Race #01 – Red Shamrock Survivorship Trail Challenge

Race number one in this year’s No Coast Trail Series is in the books! A beautifully sunny but ferociously windy day made for a fun and challenging time at the Red Shamrock Survivorship Trail Challenge in Iowa City this past weekend!

Of exactly 200 total finishers, 42 are currently signed up and participating in the No Coast Trail Series! This level of participation and support for this awesome Iowa trail race is incredible and exactly what this series is all about! If you ran at Red Shamrock this last weekend and haven’t signed up for No Coast yet, fret not! Click the Sign-up link up top and you’ll be put in the system with your points from Red Shamrock!

Next up, this weekend’s Hawkeye 50k and 25k!
